Christina (Jutz) Rohloff, 91, of Portland, ND died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at her home. Christina Christine Jutz was born near Pierz, MN to Peter and Magdalena (Meyer) Jutz on September 28, 1920. She attended rural school near Pierz and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1942. Christina lived in Chicago Heights, Chicago, IL and worked in a Department of Defense plant making walkie talkies for WWII. In 1944 she married Alois Stachowski in Chicago. Christina moved back to Pierz in 1947 and on June 14, 1948 she married Arnold Rohloff in Pierz, MN. They moved to Hope, ND and settled in Portland, ND where she was a baker and cook. She worked as a Aide at the Luther Memorial Home for 24 years and was a foster grandparent at Head Start at Mayville State University for 6 years before retiring in 1990. Arnold and Christina were married 44 years, until his passing on November 7, 1992. Christina was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Mayville. She is survived by two daughters: JoAnne (Gerry) Uglem of Northwood, ND and Charlotte (Robert) Anderson of Mayville, ND; four sons: Robert (Elaine) Rohloff of Afton, MN, Dennis (Chris) Rohloff of Mt. Vernon, WA, Arnold Jr. (Patty) Rohloff of Liberal, KS and Richard Rohloff of Portland, ND; 17 grandchildren: Daniel (LeAnne) Rohloff, Andrew Rohloff, Becky (Eric) Ludwig, Kristin (Eric) Busch, Susan (Alex) Molldrem, Mike (Nikky) Rohloff, Nicole (Nate) Korsmo, Shannon (Becky) Uglem, Katie (Ole) Gjerde, Chad Rice, Scott (Melanie) Rohloff, Valerie (Mike) Hanson, Beth Rohloff, David Rohloff, Deidra (Courtney) Serumgard, Diana (Nathan) Stokes, and Cpl Tyler Anderson; 20 great-grandchildren: Ella, Ryan, Carter, Mya, Eli, Isaac, Jacob, Allyson, Jacob, Mia, Ashlind, Aiden, Trinity, Lola, Ruby, Gerard, Scott Jr., Summer, Morgan and Sophie; one sister: Mildred (Bob) Hood of CA; one sister-in-law: Marcella Jutz of Pierz, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter: Rita Rice; grandson: Ross Anderson; six sisters: Agnes, Emelia, Leona, Laura, Clara and Irene; and five brothers: Isidore, Raymond, Walter, Rinehart and Edward. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mayville, ND. Visitation: Will be from 5–7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, and will resume one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
