Evelyn Marie Olson

Evelyn M. Olson, 84, of Mayville ND, died at Luther Memorial Home, March 16, 2012, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Evelyn was born the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Eng) Soholt on November 24, 1927 in Mayville, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated high school from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, Fergus Falls, MN. She attended Mayville College and later attended Deaconess Hospital in the Twin Cities where she received her RN in nursing. Evelyn returned to Mayville where she worked at Union Hospital. In 1952, Evelyn was married to Delno Olson and they farmed in the Buxton area, where they were active members of the Riverside Evangelical Free Church. Evelyn is survived by her son, Paul (Elaine) of Boise Idaho; daughter, Karen (Robert) Depue of Argentina, S. America; grandchildren, Joshua (Jackie) Olson, Rachel (Mike) Davidson, Angela (Marc) Shaw, Rebeca Depue, Sara Depue, Daniel Depue, and Joel Depue; great-grandchildren, Ethan Shaw and Luke Olson; and brothers, Alf (June) Soholt of Bloomington, MN and Arlin (Mary Jane) Soholt, of Moorhead, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Delno Olson and brothers Jerome Soholt and Maynard Soholt. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Riverside Evangelical Free Church, Mayville, ND. Burial: Carlson Cemetery, rural Mayville, ND.
