Beverly Carol Bakke

Beverly Carol Bakke, 73, passed away peacefully December 21, 2011 at her home in Portland, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Beverly was born on August 1, 1938 in Mayville, ND to Odin and Jennie (Moen) Kaldor. She grew up on a farm outside of Mayville and attended country school. She graduated from Oak Grove High School in Fargo, ND. She attended Aal Lutheran Church. On September 20, 1957 she married Raymond Bakke. They resided in Portland throughout their married life. Beverly worked various jobs around Mayville and Portland. She retired in 1997 to travel and do crafts with her husband Ray. Her favorite holiday was Christmas when all of her family came home. She enjoyed hearing from community members about how they, year after year, would bring their children past their house to enjoy the Christmas display in their front yard. Beverly is survived by her husband, Raymond; all of her 5 children, Terry (Wendy) Bakke of Hutchinson, MN, Tammy (Bob) Moen of West Bend WI, Curtis (Gayle Benson) of Portland, Dean (Jan) of Carrington, ND, and Debbie (Dave) Munro of Killeen, TX; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and brother, Arlen Kaldor of Selma, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 with a visitation starting at 12:30, at Aurdal Lutheran Church, Portland, ND. Burial: Aurdal Lutheran Church Cemetery, Portland, ND.
