Phyllis M. Aasen

Phyllis M. Aasen, 83, of Mayville, ND died Wednesday, July 18, at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Phyllis was born on December 4, 1923, rural Hatton, ND where she grew up and graduated from the Hatton High School. She married Lloyd Norstebon July 23, 1942 at Crookston, MN. The couple lived near Portland, ND and she worked at Mayville Drycleaners for about 20 years. Lloyd died on December 24, 1963. Phyllis married David Aasen on September 17, 1965 at Crookston, MN. They continued living near Portland. Later, she worked at the Mayville Laundromat for 20 years. David died September 7, 1993. After retiring, Phyllis resided in Portland until moving to the Luther Memorial Home in 2006. She was a member of Aurdal Lutheran Church of Portland and the Portland Senior Citizens. Phyllis enjoyed weaving rugs, board games, gardening, boat rides with David and her many dogs throughout her life. Phyllis is survived by her son, Richard Norstebon of Galesburg, ND. She is preceded in death by her husbands and her mother, Ragna (Olson) Cyrus. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday, July 23, 2007 at 10:00 am at Luther Memorial Home Chapel, Mayville, ND. VISITATION: Will be one hour prior to the memorial service at Luther Memorial Home Chapel. BURIAL: Aurdal Cemetery, Portland, ND.
