Linda Joy Lyng

Linda Lyng Linda Lyng, 56, of Mayville, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Union Hospital in Mayville, ND. She was born February 21, 1951, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Tuff) Stebe. After graduating from Bemidji High School, she attended Vocational Training and then continued her schooling at Bemidji State University, acquiring a degree in Childhood Development. Linda started her teaching career in Minnesota. On June 22, 1974, she married James R. Lyng at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Bemidji. The couple moved to Mayville, ND in 1975 and Linda worked as a bartender for over 23 years in the Mayville area. In 2000, she started working as a Lab Technician for Chrystal Sugar in Hillsboro. Linda has battled cancer since December of 2005. She was a member of Mayville Lutheran Church, secretary for the WIBC and in charge of membership in the Booster Club for the May-Port CG High School. Linda thoroughly enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, playing horseshoes and cribbage. She will always be remembered for her strength, kindness and devotion to family. Linda is survived by her husband, James; one daughter, Kimberly Lyng; one brother, Allen (Jinann) Stebe all of Mayville, ND; nine sisters, Georgia Christianson, LuAnn Stebe, Phyllis (Tim) Saga, Sharon (Lane) Weir all of Bemidji, MN, Mary Pederson of Redwood Falls, MN, Connie (Tim) Abbot, Tammie (Cliff) Sundvall, Shelly Fear and Dawn Stebe all of Bemidji, MN. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and multiple friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Lloyd, Robin and Gary. FUNERAL SERVICE: 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND VISITATION: Will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Mayville Lutheran Church BURIAL: 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bemidji, MN
