Lucille Adeline Peterson, 95, of Mayville, ND, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. Lucille was born December 9, 1915, in Union Hospital in Mayville, the daughter of Andrew and Karen (Aarhus) Skarperud. She was baptized and confirmed in the First American Lutheran Church in Mayville. Lucille attended and graduated from Mayville High School. On May 2, 1942, she married Glenn Peterson in the First American Lutheran Church. After their marriage, the couple resided in Mayville. Lucille was a lifetime member of the First American Lutheran Church and was a very active member in the Woman’s Guild and Bible Study. She liked to embroider dish towels. She was known for her interest in local events, and stayed current on the national and world news. She is survived by her son: Richard (Faye) Peterson of Mayville and Fargo, ND; 2 grandchildren: Matthew Christian Peterson and Kimberly (Gary II) Rockwood and 2 great-grandchildren: Georgia “Peach” Henn and Gary Rockwood III. Lucille is also survived by 2 sisters: Anna Mae Broton of Minneapolis, MN and Helen (Steve) Baker of Minneapolis, MN. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband Glenn in 2001; 2 sons: Loren and Dr. Rodney Peterson; 1 granddaughter: Lori Ann Peterson; 1 sister: Kathleen Rizzi and 2 brothers: Leon and Elton Skarperud. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. Memorial Service: 1 PM Thursday, January 27, 2011 at First American Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. Interment: Mayville City Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
